Participant’s chosen bearing
Age 9
Time
Participant’s chosen bearing
last view of sunset was crisp and clear
Perseverance
Rain found the roof before it found the clearing. A broad soft patter moved through the canopy, reached the corrugated sheet in separate blows, then joined itself into a continuous hiss. Water ran from one corner because the gutter ended there.
Participant’s chosen bearing
To feel anything
That i was amongst people who dearly mattered to me
Participant’s chosen bearing
My reflection in the window. The edges have disappeared.
Life
I received a call
Participant’s chosen bearing
I felt rejuvinated
When i lost faith
When i could no longer lie to myself
Participant’s chosen bearing
The problem
I felt relief
Participant’s chosen bearing
Darkness
When i thought it no longer cared
Participant’s chosen bearing
When i lost sight of what was important
A burning car blocking the way
Participant’s chosen bearing
a starting point without buildings
Everything and nothing.
I had to escape the rain
Participant’s chosen bearing
slow walkers
enlightenment
That i could see the sea
Participant’s chosen bearing
My shoulders had dropped and for a moment i didn't feel the weight of the world.
a fear of tomorrow grew as i went on
Participant’s chosen bearing
In the clearing, the truth emerged
wanting to be bare foot for longer
Shame
Participant’s chosen bearing
I hadn't told anyone where i had gone. They were woriied.
An empty path ahead, but no end
Participant’s chosen bearing
I got lost in my own thoughts
fish and chips
